]After she finished
arranging her project documents, she sat down at her desk and gazed at the small Greek statue in front of her. The statue is of a man and a woman in an embrace. She remembered that strange feeling she had when she saw this statue during her visit to a palm reader in
Greece ten years ago. "It's the figure that will remind you of your soul companion, my dear. It's the statue of soul mates." The Greek psychic said as she handed her the statue. At that time, she couldn't understand the trembling that passed all over her body; since she was not a believer of such mythology.
However, after that day she became curious about the Greek's mythology of soul mates. She wondered how such mythology could be possible. She remembered all what she learned about soul mates and how this mythology states that a couple who shared a previous lifetime together in an intimate relationship will meet again in another life level and will recognize each other immediately and will form some type of relationship. Their relationship will be based on a deep bonding that has occurred throughout the ages, which will give them the capacity to understand and help each other like no body else can. The funny part of this relationship is that soul mates are telepathic; they can read each other's minds. Can this be possible? "Sara thought"
"Good morning, Sara."
Sara raised her head to find Mr. Garfield, the president of the company, smiling and looking at her.
"Good morning, Dan," she replied.
Dan is a handsome man in his late forties. He is a smart, elegant man, with striking blue eyes that immediately reveal his intelligent, sensitive personality. Dan has been married to his lovely wife, Diane, for ten years; they have two beautiful daughters and enjoying a successful, stable marriage.
"Are you ready for your big presentation today?" he asked.
"I prepared all I need."
"What about the brochures I asked you to hand out during our meeting with our new clients? Did you prepare those as well?"
"Oh, yes. Everything is ready Dan."
"And what about..."
"I know. I'm ready for the client's questions about their market share today, and how this will be increased with our project in the upcoming few years, their revenues, their costs, and the number of clients that will be expected to increase in the following two years with and without our
project," Sara replied with a bright intellectual smile.
Dan laughed and said," Ok, let me think again. Maybe I can find something that you forgot."
Sara laughed and said "You can't find any. Don't forget what you called me once, 'an ambitious perfectionist woman'."
A moment of silence surrounded them as they looked into each other's eyes; they felt a sense of deepness, comfort and pleasure filling their souls. An amazing blend of emotions they never thought possible and a deep sense of unity that makes time and space have no meaning, all come at once. These are the same emotions they felt six years ago when they first met; nothing changed.
Sara moved her eyes away from his, interrupting the silence "It's eleven o'clock; it's time for our meeting."
On their way to the meeting room, Dan explained to Sara the importance of these clients to him and for the company. He hoped that after this presentation, these clients will sign a long-term contract with the company.
"Good morning, gentlemen," said Dan.
Sara and Dan shook hands with the four gentlemen seated at the round table in the meeting room "Hello, Sara Anderson, the project manager."
"Hello, Dan Garfield the president of the company. It's nice to meet you."
Dan started the meeting explaining some issues that his clients are concerned about. "Sara will start her short presentation of the project; if you are satisfied with our ideas, then we can discuss your other interests, such as the costs, deadlines or any other concerns you may have."
Sara turned the lights down; the power point presentation showed on the big white screen in front of the round table.
"As you see, gentlemen, the graph presented on the screen is showing your company's products demand curve in the market today. Our target for this project is to find out how your new "cheesecake" brand will hit the market successfully and shift this curve..."
Dan's eyes were fixed on Sara; her movements in front of the screen while explaining her project and the serious way she was talking reminded him of the first time
he met her and how he was amazed with her bright, charming eyes that filled his soul with comfort and pleasure. Since then, he felt that there was something special about her; something made him feel that he knew her for a very long time, as if a profound bonding had occurred through ages
of love and intimacy.
The more he looks into her eyes, the deeper these emotions are and the stronger their relationship become. After they worked with each other on a daily basis, an electrifying passion that no words can describe started to affect him. A man who respects a married woman and her successful marriage, a man who respects his wife and their marriage will never be able to realize his emotions with another woman.
These high values started his pain, the pain to suppress his feelings and his strong passion for another married woman. He always knew that he was a very sensitive man and that he was highly empathic, but he also knew that he was not the man who could easily open his heart to love, especially after he loved and married Diane. He knows that he experienced that kind of love with Sara that he never thought possible. He didn't believe that love at first sight actually existed in real life. He believed that this kind of love exists in poetry or in fantasy fiction. His guilty feelings toward Diane distracted his work and his thinking. After two years, he noticed that this strong passion toward Sara started to cool down, but their relationship took a stronger shape.
He noticed that he could understand Sara like nobody else could. Helping Sara with any issue concerning her job or her personal life was more than pleasure to him. He knew that Sara would understand any problem he was going through without explanation. She could sense it, and she would be more than happy to help him conquer it. Their friendship grew stronger and deeper. However, he never told her about his first attraction to her. He is enjoying her friendship now, and didn't want to lose this relationship for any reason. Besides, their professional environment and their marital statuses will not allow him to do so.
"...starting our project in the market by 2004 will start our process, I mean the process of increasing your profits. Our main target is for your company's profits to be raised up to 40% by 2007. If you have any questions about this project, I will be happy to answer them." Sara ended her presentation, turned the lights on, and went back to her seat
Dan looked at his clients' expressions after Sara's presentation; they seemed very satisfied. As usual, she always amazes my clients, Dan Thought.
Dan and Sara answered the clients' questions about the project, the costs, the deadlines and everything else they wanted to know. The proposal was accepted by the clients and they signed the agreement
papers.
Sara sat quietly while listening to Dan's conversation with the clients. After all these years, she still cannot explain this comfort she feels when she hears his voice.
".....we are going to meet again next week, gentlemen, to complete plans for the launch of your new marketing campaign." Sara and Dan shook hands with the company's new clients.
They walked out of the meeting room, the client's left the company, and Dan explained to Sara exactly what he wants her to do with her project to improve it according to the clients' needs. She listened to Dan's instructions very carefully, "I also would like you to be prepared to discuss all the financial requirements with the accounting department manager, and also..."
What about having our lunch first? I know you always forget that it's a necessity when you are busy. Sara thought.
Dan looked into her eyes; he stopped talking, and said, "Would you like to join me for lunch?"
Sara laughed, glanced at the Greek Statue, and said "Sure, where would you like to go?" /
