كنتُ أهيم ُ وحيدا ً كسحابة
تحلق ُ فوقَ التلالِ والأودية
عندما فجأة وجدت ُ جماعة
من زهور النرجسِ الذهبية
جوار البحيرة وتحت الشجر
تغنى مع النسيم ِ وتراقص الوتر

مثل نجومِ السماءِ اللامعات
تمتدُ بلا نهاية تلك الزهور
على حافة البحيرة تبدو فاتنات
فى لمحةٍ رأيت ُ آلاف فى سرور
على شاطىء النهر ِ كانت متناثرة
تهز ُ رؤوسها فى رقصة ٍ ساحرة

جوارهم يتراقص ُ الموج ُ فى مرح
لكن َ زهورَ النرجس ِ فاقت الموج ُ سعادة
والشاعر ُهنا لا يقدر إلا أن يغرقَ فى الفرح
مع هذهِ الصحبة الميادة
نظرت ُ ونظرت ولكنى أدركت ُ الآن
سرورٌ ملأ قلبى ومن النشوة ِ فرحان

مرارا ً عندما أرقدُ فى فراشى
تنازعنى أفكارٌ عنيدة
فى فراغ ٍ أو بأوقات ٍ عصيبة
تلوحُ فى خاطرى صحبة ُ النرجس ِ السعيدة
فتكونَ سميرى فى الأوقات ِ الحزينة
وتملأ قلبى بالسعادة ِ والسرور
ويرقص ُ قلبى طربا ً مع تلك الزهور.

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high ov'r vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd ,
A host , of golden daffodils ;
Beside the lake , beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze .

Continuous as , the star that shine
And twinkle on the Milky way ,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay ;
Ten thousand saw I in a glance .

The waves beside them danced ; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay ,
In such a jocund company :
I gazed-and gazed but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood ,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude ;
And then my heart with pleasure fills ,
And dance with the daffodils .
