During pagan times, man's imagination created gods for all natural phenomena surrounding him; there was a god for rain and a god for fertility, growth, the sea, the wind, etc.
Afterwords, monotheistic religions appeared and swept away these various myths. It may be said that the monotheistic doctrine was an important step on the road that people traveled from the myth stage to the stage of precise knowledge.
People then realized that only one God, without a partner, controls the universe and its events, and runs the cosmos according to definite and immutable laws.
The scientific theory states that the universe is subject to scientific and precise laws that correctly and accurately explain its diverse phenomena, in a manner convincing to the searching and scrutinizing mind.
Therefore, we may conclude that the religious view concerning the world aught to be closer to the scientific way that confirms the fact that the universal phenomenon are subject to fixed natural laws rather than to a mythical belief that makes events of the universe subject to diverse, changeable, and contradictory forces
