Dauntless Rivers
Composed by Dr. Gamal Morsi
( 1 )
Seagulls have wings of water and agate
And the amazement of feverfew is mine
While glory is yours,
Offer it to whomever you may
In an olla of your prideful clay
While others' eyes are green with envy
And with elephant feet,
treading on the dream of a little bird
But you overlook them with pride
And laugh…
Offering them cups of light
Broken by those who deny
And others shall its honey enjoy
Till the time of doomsday
Is it like silver your waters spark,
Or like the songs of Haleem
That travels like light through the dark?
And a boy is luring a skylark
That soared into the height
Attached to your eternal smile
Wetted by your loving waters
Shaking off its feathers
When it came to complain
About the boy's rude Endeavors
You are like a sweet orange
That halved apart
One is the restless heart
In which love rouse in spate
Leaving it like a bird
That flows along the fold
Of the sea, traveling in the world
While the other feeble part
Is the memory of the grievous night!
