يا مجيبا و العين فيض رجاء=لذّ للقلب سبحة في السّماء
هيج الوجدَ في الدجى صوت خل=يسكبُ الدّمع إذ رجا في الغناء
ملأ الكأس من دهور انتشاء=فثملنا بكأسنا في الثناء
ويحَ عيني وقد سباها حنينٌ=لحبيب حيالنا في التّنائي
يا خليلي لقد شربتُ دُمُوعي=املإ الكأس فالشّراب دوائي
والتقطني إذا ذكرتَ حبيبي=ليسَ صحوي وغيبتي بسواء
منتهى الحب أن تعيش سعيدا=ونصيبي بمن عشقت قضائي
يوشك الموت أن يحلّ قريبا=و بقائي بأن يحلّ فنائي
يا إلهي ومنيتي ورجائي=يا قريبا وموغلا في السناء
اترع القلب بالهوى وترفق=أن يصير الفؤاد بعض الهواء

O Lord, who unfailingly respond! My eyes are flooded with hope
My heart delights in breathing forth Your praises unto heaven
The voice of a friend inflamed my longing in the dark
And poured copious tears along with devotional songs
The cup overflowed with eons of intoxication
And we were inebriated as we gave thanks along a sip
O how my intense longing has charmed my eyes
Making them desirous of beholding a distant-close Beloved
O Friend, I have drunk my tears
Fill the glass, for drinking is my medicine
And hold me when I remember my Beloved
My sobriety and trance are not alike
The ultimate love is to happily live
Near the One you so cherish and love
Death may arrive soon, friend
My existence is in my own annihilation
O my Lord, my greatest desire and sweetest hope
You are so near, so surpassingly beautiful
Fill my heart with Your love and kindly regard it
For at your touch it melts into thin air
